If you do what I do for a living, you’d always feel in the ‘questionable’ category. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t because the work isn’t legit- but the very nature of the work invites questions like- is that sustainable? Does it pay the bills? What keeps you motivated? Is that even a real job? So, you just type away and make some pocket money? Must be so easy, breezy for you, na?

Of course, some of these rub me the wrong way and I do not hesitate in passing down the ticking bomb to these buggers, waiting for it to detonate- but certain others get me thinking. What keeps me motivated, for instance. As a writer, I can tell you it isn’t the cash. I feel our craft is seriously undervalued in the country. But turn to the creative challenges the process throws at and therein lies the bliss. The balance, off course, goes out of whack- and often- but you learn to make do until you make it!
Holding out for a moment when I’d have the exact answer, I thought a motivation piece held good promise. So, if you, too, have wondered what keeps you motivated, here’s a breakdown by zodiac:

Aries (March 21 – April 19)
What keeps you motivated is being exhorted to achieve cent percent success in a project that is all your own. You like to pick up assignments from scratch and work, therefrom, to achieve the end goal. Fixing someone’s spoilt broth or handling interference doesn’t sit well with you. Your efficiency is maximal when you take on a blank slate and work your indelible stamp of proficiency and productivity on it.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
You do whatever it takes to fix a wrong that’s hurting a loved one. You cannot sit back and watch your loved ones hurt over things that are in your control. And when it comes to your loved ones and their well being, there isn’t anything that lies beyond your locus of control. You shall move heaven and earth to bring a smile to your loved ones. Also, you like keeping things in order as incoherence and instability upset you no end.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
What motivates you is the desire to project yourself as capable of handling any sh*t that life throws your way. You have always imagined yourself as a tenacious and adaptable individual who can brave any situation. What deters you, however, is a fear of being seen as nervous or fickle.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Your biggest motivation in life is to be seen as a warm, affectionate person without coming across as especially clingy or needy. You want to make people feel safe and comfortable enough so they have no qualms sharing their feelings with you.
Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)
Your biggest driving force is the one that exhorts you to strive for a creatively challenging as well as monetarily rewarding career. The balance is important to you and you also need to establish a solid footing at your workplace. You desire to be seen as a role model, a leader and the go-to person for indisputable and efficient solutions and advice.
Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)
Any advice that assuages your fear of inadequacy works to encourage you for the better. You are inspired when you feel dependable and people rely on you to get things done. The feeling of being helpful in pressing situations or crises exhorts you to work harder.
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)
Your biggest motivator in life is being a people’s person- a well-liked individual who gets along with every Tom, Di*k and Harry and is the go-to person for everything under the sun, be it relationship troubles or work problems.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)
You have an undeniable thirst for power and like to be in charge of every situation around. You have a penchant to be in the driver’s seat and shall not content yourself with being in the backseat. You need to take the wheel, forge ahead at an enviable speed and take control of the road to success.
