In today’s fast-paced world, it is quite important to practice self-care. Too often, we get so busy and overly occupied by other things in life that we place our own well-being on the back seat. Though, with the help of some good health practices, you can once again drive your energy in the right direction.
It should not surprise you that some of the most successful people in the world follow certain wellness rituals to attain calm and peace in this chaotic world. Read on to get to know about some of these life-changing wellness rituals that you should be following right away.
What are wellness rituals?
Ideally, a wellness ritual is any daily activity that you do for yourself. Most of the rituals form an evident part of one’s lifestyle with an aim to provide mental, physical, or any other form of benefit.
Wellness rituals celebrate the beauty of “now” instead of being focused on the past or the future. While some rituals directly impact our physical health, most of them provide a state of mental peace to us. They are closely related to self-care and help us find something magical in the most ordinary things.
A wellness ritual does not come with any strict rule. It can last for as less as a few minutes to hours on a daily basis. You can follow a wellness ritual at morning, night, or any other chosen time of the day. It might sound strange, but a lot of us follow some or other kind of ritual already on a daily basis. All you need to do is add a dash of spirituality in it to attain bliss and mental peace.

Why do we need these rituals?
We all live in a mechanical world and get overly occupied by numerous things on a daily basis. It is pretty obvious to get caught up at work or doing all kinds of things that can take away a huge chunk of our energy. Sadly, it doesn’t allow us to treat ourselves or replenish the energy that we lose so easily.
Okay – let’s answer this. When was the last time you did something for yourself? If you have to take a pause to remember it, then you certainly need to implement good health practices that are focused on self-care.
Remember, the most important relationship that you have in this world is with yourself. There is nothing wrong with taking some time out and getting to know yourself with these wellness rituals. It will replenish your soul and make sure that you have a positive vibe all day long.

Steve Jobs might not be around anymore, but his 10-minute morning ritual still inspires millions of people out there. Each morning, he would clean his bed, take a shower, and stand in front of the mirror. He would ask himself everyday “If today was the last day of my life, would I be happy with what I’m about to do today?” Go ahead and ask yourself the same. If the answer is “no” then you need to bring a much-needed change in your life.

The former US president would wake up at 5 every morning and drink at least a liter of water followed by green tea and orange juice while scheduling his day. This would give him a kickstart for the rest of the day.

Some of the best wellness rituals to follow
There are literally hundreds of celebrities who follow unique wellness rituals. If you also want to follow these good health practices and bring a radical change in your life, then start with these suggestions.
- The joy of doing nothing
This is one of the simplest yet the most fulfilling wellness rituals that I personally follow. For at least 15-20 minutes a day, simply sit by yourself and do nothing. The best way to practice this is by just sitting in your balcony or by the window while having your morning tea or coffee. Simply look around or close your eyes, and let it all out – one sip at a time.
- Meditate
There is a reason why meditation is considered as one of the best self-healing practices. While you can meditate any time of the day, it is recommended to do it in the morning. Try to meditate for at least 30 minutes on a daily basis. Focus on your breathing and sync your mind and body together. Let it all out and cleanse all the negative energy from your body. This will give you a push for the rest of the day for sure.
- Sweat it out
Sometimes, the best way to care about your well-being is by staying fit. Besides working on your mental peace, you should also make an effort to give your body the care it deserves. You can exercise a bit early morning or even after coming back home from work. Though, I would recommend doing it in the morning as you would be able to push your boundaries and inhale fresh oxygen.
One of the best ways to do it is by running. It will not only be the best cardio that you can do, but will also help you clear your mind. You can run while listening to your favorite music or can simply listen to the sound of the nature. Try to run outdoors and don’t confine your energy in limited spaces. Not just running, there are tons of bodyweight and calisthenics exercises that you can do anytime and anywhere you want.
- Nurture yourself
Nurturing yourself is the basis of almost every self-care practice. One of the most helpful wellness rituals, it is all about nurturing our body by providing the needed nutrients. To start with, you can drink at least a liter of tonic or detox water. It can be infused water (with lemon, watermelon, orange, basil, etc.) as well.
A lot of people prefer eating nuts, fruits, raw veggies, and all kinds of wholesome food. If you want, you can do it before going to bed as well to make sure you stay hydrated and get all the vital nutrients before calling it a day.
- Doing what you love
A lot of times, we don’t get the time or the energy to do something we love. If you have a hectic 9 to 5 job and you like to sing or write, then it can be tough to keep your passion alive amidst all the other responsibilities. Therefore, you can wake up a bit early in the morning and take some time out to do what makes you happy. It can be anything – writing, painting, singing, reading, or almost anything that makes you feel alive. Be sure to take at least 30 minutes of each day and dedicate it to your passion.
- Be grateful
The key to happiness is not wealth or fame, it is gratitude. The more grateful you will be to the universe, the happier you would feel. I would recommend maintaining a gratitude journal and keeping it handy. Note down all the things that you are thankful for the first thing in the morning. Also, every other time you feel grateful simply write about it in your journal. This small act will certainly go a long way.
