6. Cream soda hair
Cream soda hair is possibly THE MOST popular upcoming hair color trend. It is a gorgeous soft golden base with multi-toned highlights. You’ve probably already noticed this hair color trend on all the fashion biggies like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, etc. Although it is pretty high maintenance, it’s a trend that is bound to become a cult favorite because of how youthful yet professional it looks.
7. Jet black hair
From the blonde bombshells to the brunette babes. While on one hand supermodels like Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin are sporting soft, romantic cream soda blonde hair, on the other hand, fashion goddesses like Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Keke Palmer are opting for jet black hair (global). This is a low maintenance, but incredibly chic look. No matter what your skin tone is, jet black hair is bound to give you an edgy, editorial look to complement your BAMF personality.

8. Caramel highlights
Caramel highlights have been in trend for quite a while now. However, they’ve gone from being ugly, chunky lines to stunning light-reflecting strands of hair that can make anyone look like a bronze goddess. You can go for something as drastic as Rihanna’s jet black base with caramel highlights, or for something more subtle like Bella Hadid’s soft burnt caramel highlights. Can’t decide which one will look better on you? Well, as always, we’re here to help. As a rule of thumb, the more texture your hair has (if it is wavy or curly), the chunkier the highlights need to be, in order for them not to disappear among the darker hair. Alternatively, if you have straight hair, then go for small sections of highlighted hair all over, for a contoured, light-reflecting effect.
9. Rose quartz hair
The fashion industry has started showing a whole lotta love to jewel-toned clothes. The makeup industry has launched every jewel-toned makeup item you can imagine – from lipsticks to eyeshadow to highlighter. So it makes sense that the jewel-tone madness has made its place in hairstyling as well. The rose-quartz hair color trend includes a peachy-pink shade with a champagne-gold finish and dark lowlights. It’s a fun and flirty hair trend, perfect for SS/18.
10. Chocolate brown highlights
Chocolate brown highlights are perfect for brunettes who don’t like to experiment with crazy hair color trends. Take a cue from princess-to-be, Meghan Markle who has slayed this trend all year. It is a sober but very chic alternative to the caramel highlights or the cream soda hair trend we have been gabbing about. Chocolate brown highlights on dark hair will not only make your skin look all bright and glowy, but will also make your face look contoured, and create an illusion of voluminous hair.
11. Super bleached hair
This trend is probably one of the most dangerous one on our list because if not done properly, you run the risk of ruining your hair beyond repair. So, if you do want to try this high-fashion trend, make sure you get it done by a professional. Moving on from our little PSA, this super bleached hair color trend has been sported by some of our absolute favs like Kim K, Queen Bey and Solange. The thing about this trend is that it looks especially chic and high-fashion on darker skin tones, because the incredibly light colored hair brings out the olive/bronze glow in dark skin, while the darker skin tone makes the blonde look like an incredible champagne gold.
12. Classic bronde balayage
Bronde is a shade between brown and blonde. The classic blonde balayage trend has been in style for quite a while now, and it seems to us that it intends on remaining in vogue for at least one more year. It is a slightly more mature hair color trend than the other ones on our list, but is just as chic as them. You can opt for a trendy bronde balayage ombre like Jennifer Lopez or messy bronde balayage highlights like Brazilian Bombshell, Gisele Bundchen. Unlike most hair color trends, this one is a classic, but surprisingly low maintenance.
