C S Lewis famously said, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I though I was the only one.’”
How true that is! Your friends are the family that you make, not the one you were born into. After all, family is what you make it, right? And if your friends are your family, then there’s nothing quite like it.

Life seems less stressful, less drab, less dark, when you have a friend with you, always. No matter what, your friends are there for you. That is, true friends. You should be lucky to have good, genuine friends in your life. If you’re lucky enough to have them, cherish them, love them, and make awesome memories with them! Don’t let your busy schedule, daily stresses, and other things come in between your friendship. If a relationship is important to you, you WILL make time for it – as simple as that.

You both have different tastes in music, which are unique in their own way. Why not create a playlist just fo your best friend? They may not like some of the songs, but it’s one way to get closer to your buddy by making a best friends playlist. Also, you could even play it when you’re together, whether in the car or at home when you guys meet, no?
2. Have a movie marathon.
This one needs to be done often, for the different genres there are. If you do horror movie marathon one weekend, you could do a drama movie marathon another. Same goes for rom-coms, comedies, fantasies. Of course, you need to stock up on booze, popcorn, chips, and other finger foods for the amazing movie nights you plan. Then there’s the inevitable discussion about the favorite of the bunch, and what about the movie appealed to you the most.
3. Bake a cake/pie/pudding together.
Baking is a therapeutic experience because it requires you to focus on every last detail. If you can do it with your best friend, then there’s nothing like it. Gather all the ingredients and tools, measure out all the ingredients, make the batter/dough, then bake it. Eating the fruits of your labor in the end is the cherry on top!

Getting mani-pedis regularly is a tradition that you need to institute, so that you get your bi-weekly or monthly quota of girl time, without any interruptions from significant others. Getting season-specific mani-pedis is something you could try out. While the whole experience is relaxing, the chance to catch up with your buddy and talk is just awesome!
5. Take on a DIY project.
Scour Pinterest to look for an amazing DIY project that adds to your home décor. Gather all the tools, raw materials, and get DIYing! It not only helps you bond over a new and interesting activity, you can both enjoy the experience of seeing your own creation adding to your home décor.
6. Plan a cross country road trip.
Whether you actually travel through all of the states or not, you need to plan a girls’ road trip with your best friend. The best way to do it is to plan it down to the last detail, with cheap motels/hotels to stop over, the list of must-see places, and the list of must-do things along the way. What more could you ask for, than to make unforgettable memories that you’re going to cherish the rest of your lives.
7. Take a vacation together.

You need to have a fixed date night every month with your best bud. What good is a best friend if you can’t meet them and have a pizza date night at least once a month? Make a pact to gorge yourselves on as much junk food as you can, while hanging out together. You can take turns having the date night at each of your places, so that everyone can chip in with their own ideas of junk.
10. Have a regular girls’ night.
A REAL girls’ night doesn’t consist of one of you talking about dudes in your lives. Make a rule: Dudes aren’t allowed on girls’ night. Eat, drink, talk, make merry, without giving the dudes a moment of your precious time together.
11. Organize your albums/get scrapbooking.

Scrapbooking is an amazing way to preserve your memories of all the time spent together. Make copies of the pictures for the different scrapbooks or share one scrapbook amongst yourselves, but the point is to go for a walk down memory lane and cherishing and adoring each and every moment spent together. Isn’t that the point of a best friends bucket list?
12. Host one important occasion for your best friend.
Whether it’s bridal shower, bachelorette party, a new promotion, a housewarming, or even an engagement, throw your best buddy a party that marks an important milestone in their life. You’re both growing up, and celebrating these together is the cherry on top of the accomplishment!
13. Adopt a pet together.

Nothing big, but a little pet that you both can take care of without much hassle. Maybe a fish or a guinea pig, or even a parrot. It’ll be your friendship baby. Split responsibilities, and take care of another living creature. Also, it’ll be another reason to keep in touch and see each other regularly. It can only bring you closer together.
14. Save keepsakes.
Get a shoebox and start saving movie tickets, concert ticket stubs, beer bottle caps, shot glasses, and pictures that are for your eyes only. A few years down the line, it’ll be your own box of memories that you’d LOVE to relive any day of the week!
15. Set each other up on blind dates.
This is a no-brainer, but something that you don’t even actively think about. If you have a colleague or a friend from another group that you think would be just purrfect for your bestie, then set them up on a blind date. The same goes for them too, for setting you up on a blind date. Later, you can share how each of your dates went, and tweak the checklist accordingly, no?
16. Create a Pinterest board together.
