First things first, I am not playing this the lopsided way. The excuses mentioned in here aren’t just to friendzone a ‘him,’- the oft empathised-with ‘victims’ of the friendzone- and swing both ways. Second, if you, even for a moment, thought that your reasons to friendzone him (or her- I thought we had that clarified) were all an outcome of weighing it in your head, we might just convince you otherwise. Your zodiac sign has a lot to do with the excuse you advance and it might be time you came out and faced the mirror. You might make yourself feel good about your seeming ‘generosity’ but the naked truth is that ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ is more often that not a load of bull. It is YOU- and has much more to do with you than you realize or would care to admit. It’s writ in your stars and you would do well to sit up and take note.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)
They blame it all on their career. They say that they want to focus on their work and want no distractions and diversions on the path to success. They say they don’t want to be in a relationship right now because for them, work is worship and that means they consider you as a hindrance on their road to achieving success.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
They will excuse themselves by saying that they had been in a bad relationship that didn’t end well and hence, they need time. All they need is space and sometime to consider themselves and set their priorities straight in life. They need time to focus on themselves- they want to do something for themselves for a change.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
They just want to keep you on the hook. They want to be friends with you first and give you hopes about the future. But they just don’t want to commit to you. They take it all away with “Let’s be friends first.” They keep excusing themselves by alluring you into the uncertainties of the future and make you believe that you two might hit it off sometime in the future.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
They play the blame-game on their past. They keep blabbering about how people have hurt them in their previous relationships. They say that they have suffered a lot in the past and that they need to time to heal from those heart-shattering experiences before they’re finally ready to take the risk again to tidy up their bandaged heart and present it to someone.
Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)
They’re ferocious beings and know exactly how they are. Hence, their method of excusing themselves off a relationship is by ascertaining the fact that they can be way too difficult to handle. But they want to emerge out as innocent beings, so they say that they’re afraid that their troublesome nature might rip your heart and that they don’t want so.
Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)
They possess a brilliant quality, i.e., of honesty and that, of all, might be mistaken for their rudeness. They’ll say right to your face that they don’t see themselves heading anywhere near the future with you. They can be completely honest with you in revealing the fact that they see no future with you. Hence, they’re generous enough to ask you to not waste your time.
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)
They say that they like you and will keep telling you the reasons why they do so. But they don’t want to give you false hopes and then break your heart later. They really don’t want to hoodwink you. So they’re very certain that they don’t want to mislead you. They don’t want to encourage you and your daydreams regarding them.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)
They might break your heart as they’re the bold and audacious ones. And if they’re bold enough to rip off your heart into pieces each time you offer them your gift-wrapped heart, and then not even feel sorry about it, then they certainly can excuse themselves off a relationship by saying anything (or saying nothing at all-even worse). For example, they might even sleep with you and then, never call you back.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)
They’re the discoverers and explorers. Hence, clearly, for them, tricking you into believing that they don’t want to settle down right now is no big deal. They say that there is so much more to life and that they want to travel, explore and seek wisdom. This might seem like the sanest of all excuses and they’re clever enough to use it on you.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)
They blame it all on their life and the current crisis they’re going through. Due to these situations in their life, as they say, it is tough for them to be in a proper set of mind to encourage a relationship. They save themselves from a relationship by simply saying that they don’t want you to handle their issues or get involved in them.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)
They’re masters when it comes to chasing you away from even the thoughts of fondling a bond of love with them. They might keep chatting with you about their ex and how life used to be then or even their crush or someone they like. And if they don’t want to be in a relationship with you that bad, then they might even take you on a tour to the details of their imaginary crush.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)
They just say that they want to be single and alone for some time to figure out what they want in life and also to figure out who they really are and where did they lose themselves in their previous relationships (so much to say to avoid a relationship). They also add that they want to take a break from the dating world to actually discover their real selves.
