Neha had just gone through a pretty horrible divorce, and had finally won the custody of her son. To make ends meet and ensure her son’s education wasn’t disrupted, she started working three jobs. One of the jobs involved waitressing. Two months into it, Neha was already a favorite among customers. Despite her troubles, she was this person who radiated life and happiness. Everybody waited to be waited by her. 
One night, as Neha was clearing the tables, a person walked in. He looked pretty devastated. Somehow, he managed to take a sit at the bar, and kept staring at the bottles kept on the shelf. Neha walked up to him and asked how she could help. He said he needed a drink. Sensing that he was already beyond drunk, she tried talking him out of it.
She asked him if he was okay. Ketan looked at her, and for the first time, he felt somebody really wanted to know how he was. He told her about how his life was a complete mess. He was the star at university, the boy everybody knew would achieve something grand in life, but how none of that had happened and he was already 40.

Neha listened sympathetically, without interrupting even once. When Ketan had poured his heart out, he saw a tear trickle down Neha’s face. He asked if she would like to go for a walk to the beach that was close by. She agreed. On the way, Neha told Ketan about her divorce, and how her son was her life and she worried a lot about him.
By the time the two reached the beach, it was already dawn. Time had passed so quickly, they hadn’t realized. They had shared a lot; it felt like they’d known each other for ages. Ketan took Neha’s hand, looked into her eyes and said, “I will be honest with you. It wasn’t love at first sight. It took…,” and he looked at his watch and said, “5 hours”.
They both laughed and kissed, and the rest is history.
