5. Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn: Their love story is unlike anything we have seen. It is fit to be written in a book. Tracy was in a loveless marriage with Louise Treadwell. His Catholic upbringing, and the fact that he blamed his infidelity for his son John’s disability – deafness, prevented him from divorcing his wife. When Tracy and Katharine met, they both were well established and had a great fan base. They were soon seen together enjoying luxurious lunches, and were dubbed a couple by the media.

As Tracy never intended to end his estranged relationship with his wife, he and Kate avoided being photographed together. In 1963, Tracy became seriously ill and Kate moved in with him and took care of him round the clock. Their love was tragic, deep and very unconventional. Katherine did not attend his funeral because she did not want any controversy surrounding the family, especially since they had avoided it in the 30 years of their relationship. That was her tribute to her love.
4. Beyoncé & Jay Z: They are the Hollywood’s Hip-Hop power couple. Beyoncé revealed the secret to her happy marriage to Oprah – the balance between her independence and the love for her husband. “That foundation is so important in a relationship, and just to have someone that you just like, you know, is so important, and someone that is honest.”
3. Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall: They were Hollywood’s golden and most successful couple. Bogart was married to his third wife, when he met Lauren in 1944 on the sets of To Have and Have Not, and was smitten by her. Although he was 25 years her senior, the attraction between the couple was undeniable. They were soon married, had two children, and had a happy life together.
Like every couple, they two had their troubles, but nothing that a good talk and hug could not overcome. The biggest hurdle the couple had to go through was Bogart’s fight with cancer, which in the end, took his life. Lauren remarried in 1961, but she always considered Bogart to be the love of her life.
2. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie: They are the current number one power couple in Hollywood. Their compatibility, philanthropic interests, love for their children, and respect for each other is what makes them the perfect couple for us. They first met in the summer of 2004, and after 9 years of relationship and six kids, they tied the knot in August in a low-key ceremony.

Their relationship has always been high-profile, receiving a lot of media coverage. In early 2013, when Jolie underwent a preventive cancer treatment, she was widely criticized. A very emotional statement from Pitt about his support for her decisions silenced the media. Whatever this couple does becomes a trend. And they sure know how to win our hearts.
1. Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward: They met in 1953, and later reconnected on the sets of The Long Hot Summer in 1957. Just a year later, in 1958 they were married and remained so until Paul’s demise in 2008. He was already married when he fell in love with Joanne. He was shy and conservative, and she was free and independent.

The secret to their 50-year long marriage was their friendship and the ability to talk to each other, no matter what. Paul was once asked if he ever cheated on Joanne. His answer was, “Why fool around with hamburger when you have steak at home?” Paul and Joanne were definitely made for each other, and their relationship can teach us a lot. But their love for each other is what makes them the number one romantic Hollywood couple.
