The latest edition of the storied Miss World event ended in a glittering star-studded event in London yesterday. The winner of this year’s edition is South Africa’s bilingual beauty Rolene Strauss.

India’s very own Aishwarya Rai was honored where she appeared with her Bollywood star husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. Described as an embodiment of beauty with purpose, Aishwarya is also seen as the most successful Miss World so far, a title that she won in 1994. “I stand here overwhelmed by this honour. I thank Miss World Organization for such an incredible honour that I have received…” she said in her acceptance speech.

“To have the opportunity to hold the title, to wear the crown with pride… that was my one time to go out there and experience beauty with a purpose…,” said the actress looking gorgeous in shimmery gown.

Rolena competed against 122 other contestants from all across the world and won the Miss World 2014 grand final held at London yesterday. The 22-year-old beauty is a fourth year Medical Student and she has created history for the African Nation as it has gained its third Miss World crown with this win. Rolena has a philanthropic vision for the future as she desires to focus on women’s health across the world.
2. Edina KULCSÁR (Hungary)

Edina, 23, is the first runner up of Miss World 2014. A model by profession, she aspires to be an actress and hopes to attend drama school and seek a break in the film industry.
3. Elizabeth SAFRIT (United States)

Elizabeth, 22, is the second runner up of Miss World 2014. Currently working as a lobbyist, with a keen interest in political affairs. She wishes to become a political broadcaster for major news networks. She hails from a very small town of USA but carries a big dream of making an impact on the political scene.
