Yes, Kim Kardashian is making the headlines again! Nope – not for nude photoshoots or her reality show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ or even all the bunny humping with hubby Kanye West. This time, she is in the news – courtesy Rob Kardashian, her beloved li’l bother. Apparently, this past Sunday might have been the usual brunch-and-bonhomie deal for the lovely Kim if Rob Kardashian hadn’t thought that some VDA (and I know you’d ask- it’s vitriolic display of affection) might be the perfect way to round up all the storms Kim keeps brewing each day. The VDA has caught on like wildfire, blowing up servers, and trending on social media like the $100 million four-year extension contract of the popular series that elder sis is a part of. Rob posted an image of a blood-splattered Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) from the movie Gone Girl, on his Instagram account and captioned it, “This is my sister kim, the bitch from Gone Girl…”
While immense speculation about the reasons as to why Rob’s open invitation for a steady stream of invectives to flow elder sister Kim’s way is revving on, it is rather unsettling to see that the post has received over 85.9k likes and 20.1k comments. It is difficult to pin down the reasons for this slander and Kim Kardashian’s brother Rob would liken her to a ‘cold, calculating psychopath,’ who is arguably, ‘one of the most disturbing female villains in movie history.’ Ouch much, right?? We bet.

Surfacing among one of the reasons behind this libel of sorts is Khloe Kardashian’s recent statements to Wonderwall about her brother’s consistent attempts at social alienation and his rather, strained estrangement from the close-knit Kardashian family. This is what Khloe said,
I just feel, especially over the last year, Rob has become very introverted and has a kind of social anxiety. He’s definitely not at his happiest place that he once was, and I know he can get to that happy place and he will… We all kind of get to a place where you don’t know where to go in life or whatever, so I think it’s important for him to know that he always has people to lean on and it’s not unnatural for people to not know even where to begin. It’s a growing process … I will always be his No. 1 supporter.

Whilst the statement does hold up against the facts that, indeed evince Rob’s estrangement from family, there is no real clarity about the ‘actual’ reason behind the defamation. Rob was reported to have left sister Kim’s lavish wedding ‘in tears’ owing to his intolerance for what he claims was ‘major family drama.’
“Rob did come to Paris but skipped [the rehearsal dinner at] Versailles and the wedding,” a source told People at the time. “He just didn’t want to see a bunch of people both nights and really is not feeling like himself. He is really overweight and having a hard time with it. There was no big fight between him and Kim. This was just a decision he made.”

Another source, however, quotes that the vitriol is an outcome of a sibling spat over appearances.
“Rob said he was sickened by Kim and Kanye’s display of wealth and clothes and beauty and called it ‘superficial bulls–t,’” reported the New York Daily News. “Kim was pissed that Rob hadn’t made an effort to drop any weight over the past few months … Rob basically thinks Kim cares about him only for his appearance and he said he’d ‘make life easier’ for her and just leave.”

As for the veracity of this particular plausible reason, it is found that the blogosphere has, indeed, been shaming the poor guy ad nauseam. Whilst he lashed out against the ‘haters’ in a series of tweets last year, they have since been deleted and he hasn’t quite held his own from then. As of now, the only photo that remains on his Instagram account is that of ‘Amazing Amy,’ directed at sis Kim with the lovely caption, “This is my sister kim, the bitch from Gone Girl…”

We, at NLT, feel that it is likely that Rob is having self-esteem issues and is deploying coping mechanisms that aren’t really going to work out. It is rather disheartening to see that a bright and beaming lad, all of 28, is caught in a mess that is in part a result of society’s unrealistic standards of beauty and the undue importance given to a religious conformity to them and partly, umm, well, the Kardashian genes!! After all, any waist size that outgrows one’s jeans does not necessarily have to meet the Kardashian penchant for overshare, right??

P.S. It could just be a publicity gimmick, given the Kardashian penchant for being smeared all over the web too!! I mean, I know, I don’t liken my siblings to Hannibal Lecter or The Wicked Witch Of The West even during my worst fights, much less share it on social media!!
