In the world of super-niche dating apps, there’s a new entrant – CrewMe. This new dating app has been specifically designed for pilots and cabin crew on layover in foreign locales to help them find love in the skies. Inspired by the likes of Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid, et la, CrewMe connects airline crew, allowing them to connect anywhere in the world.
Founded by a pilot, Maxence Bossier, CrewMe was launched just last week, but has garnered hundreds of downloads in the short span of time. According to Condé Nast Traveler India, Boussier developed the app because he felt there was a need for crew of different airlines to connect.

He explained that his new app will help people who’re waiting between flights to meet up, go for drinks, and even explore the city. Instead of being stuck with the same flight crew they just spent a long flight with, CrewMe helps them go out on their own and meet up with peers from different airlines.

CrewMe works like any other dating app out there. It’s a location-based app which coughs up people who are nearby, along with their name and the airline they’re associated with. And just like Tinder, users swipe left if they’re not interested and swipe right if they are. If both users swipe right, they’ll be able to chat and take the interaction forward by making plans to meet up.

The app is free to download and available on the iTunes store. The app’s Android version is set to be released later this year.

Users can also choose the premium version for $3.99, which will notify the user whenever someone likes their profile.
Although the idea behind CrewMe dating app is to help connect cabin crew and pilots with their peers, but what if they don’t want to date someone in the same industry? Guess, that’s why the dating app market is flooded with so many new dating apps.
