Parenting is a tough job and worse still, it is unpaid. But just like with everything else in life, this one has its plus-es coming in free with the minus-es. When your little angel stares back at you and smiles with the same twinkle in his eyes as yours, you can’t help but thank God for the beautiful feeling of being a mom. And then, you see the mess he’s made right behind (another reason for that mischievous ‘I-am-so-cute-you-can’t-call-me-out-for-this glint in his eyes) and begin another cleaning round coz that’s what life for a stay-at-home mom is like, isn’t it?
Here’s what my own looks like- in snippets (my toddler who could solve the world’s energy crisis doesn’t give me time to pen the whole thing) 😛
1. Cartoon Network it is!

Romantic flicks? Sexy dates? I barely remember what they are. So, you’re wondering what I watch all day long? Cartoon network of course! What! Don’t judge me; they do make good cartoons even today.
2. Princess party
Frankly, I don’t remember when I wore my dress I bought from the thrift store downtown. Being a mom, you forget to spend time making your hair or dressing up like a princess. But, you know what still makes me smile? That twinkling eyes of the angel who calls me MOM!
3. Aligned shelves and clean places

Oh honey! Are you talking Greek? Cleanliness goes for a toss and no matter how wildly I get down to cleaning, doting son will still splash his food or spread his toys because he knows he can get away with a murder even, so- phew, why bother!
4. Power naps

Oh they are by far my favorite inventions! While I absolutely adore you, my dearest son, why on earth do you need to wake up at ungodly hours in the night. Honey, I love you but my sleep cycle is a haywire mess. Someone let him sleep all night please?
5. Smell? Smell.

Yes, I am practically sniffing everything from my own goddamn hair to the PJs and sometimes even the new clothes in my wardrobe. Do you know why? Because news flash – darling son loves to poop and vomit at the weirdest places. Thank God for those diapers!
6. Let’s play FOOD
Oh God for the love of all that is holy! I can’t fathom how my little toddler manages to throw his Maggi noodles some 10 kilometre away and that too at breakneck speed. Of course, mommy loves doing the cleaning and sometimes gets in on the fun maggi-noodle-throw competition too.Okay, no- but seems like fun if someone else is doing the cleaning!

7. Break your bones
Oh this is one thing I totally adore. I don’t need to turn on the TV set for getting my dose of entertainment. My dearest son swings his cute tummy in the wildest way that would put even Michael Jackson to shame. You go, my rockstar!
8. Hugs, hugs and more

I love the way my son comes up randomly and envelops me in a big bear hug. No matter how tiring and stressful the day is, these hugs melt my big heart in a little puddle of love and all I know is I have never been happier in my life.
9. Playtime pleasure
Did I talk about the times when dearest son wants to play? Do you know what his instruments are? My back of course. Take him piggyback when every bone is sore. But, what makes up for it is the way he passes a kiss on my back after getting off it- you just realize that life is beautiful!

10. Mommy

All the pain, the hassles and the stress of motherhood vanish in thin air, the moment he calls me mommy. The pleasure of seeing how much your little bundle of joy trusts you coupled with the love in those little fingers is enough to make up for every irritating ‘mommy’ itch.
