Saying I love you has become too casual for comfort these days. The three little words, when uttered together has the power to move mountains, to melt the ice surrounding a cold heart, to fire up the passion barely banked, to bring tears of joy tumbling down one’s cheeks, to inflate a barren heart like a balloon.
But, you don’t necessarily have to say those three words to let someone know that you love them. There are a hundred different ways you can show them the same with your actions.

Here are a few ways you can say I love you without actually saying it out loud:
1. Seeing something in the store that reminded you of your beloved, and buying it even though you don’t need it and giving it to them when you get home.
2. Asking them, ‘How was your day?’ and actually paying attention when they tell you.

3. Letting them have the last piece of cake even though you really, really want to have it.
4. Standing up for them when someone says something mean.
5. Calling just to say ‘hello.’
6. Sending them a thought-provoking article you read because you know how much they like thinking articles.
7. Agreeing to go shopping even though you hate shopping as much as you’ve hated anything in life.
8. Washing the dishes before they even ask you to do it.

9. Surprising them with their favorite childhood candy.
10. Bringing them a long-stemmed rose, just because.
11. Telling them they look great because you know how much it means to them for you to like how they look.
12. Covering them with a quilt when they’ve fallen asleep on the couch watching the telly.
13. Reading their favorite book without complaining just because you know how much it means for them to know you’ve read it too.

15. Treating them to a drink at a high-end bar or a fancy restaurant, just because.
16. Putting your phone away when they’re talking and giving them your full attention.
17. Drawing a bath for them because you know how tired they will be when they get home.
18. Cooking them their favorite meal, putting in efforts to make everything from scratch.
19. Giving them a foot massage after a long day.
20. Listening to their favorite music even though you don’t like it.
21. Bringing them breakfast in bed on a regular, normal day.

24. Picking them up from the airport after greeting them at the terminal.

See? It’s not that hard to let your partner know you love them. You just need to know when to let them know, is all.
