As a twenty-something girl, I have watched Sex and the City (the re-runs, of course!) at two different phases of my life; the crossroads between my teens, and now, in a period that I like to call my “semi-adulthood.” Like most girls, I started off with sneak peeks because I couldn’t resist the temptation of watching something I was warned against. Slowly, I became personally invested in the characters and their lives, particularly captivated by the quick-witted and confident protagonist Carrie Bradshaw.
Carrie makes me want to write a lot. Ridiculous but true, Carrie Bradshaw quotes made me constantly reflect on my own writing. With each episode that I watched, I became inspired to put pen to paper, to delve deep into diverse themes without being scared about what people would say. Like most other girls, I coveted Carrie; she was exactly who I wanted to be. Apart from the fact that she always had something that she could write about, her shoes and her “money hanging in her closet” were an inspiration to myself and girls everywhere.

With this in mind, here are some of the Carrie Bradshaw quotes that have twirled, curled, and helped me grow up into the woman I am today!
1. “It wasn’t logic, it was love.”

Love is indeed the most illogically beautiful thing that could ever happen to anyone. This Carrie Bradshaw quote reiterates something that everyone who has fallen in love will know: in a fight between the head and the heart, always follow the heart!

People make friends the way they buy shoes; they try them on and shop around, only to throw many of them in a corner after the next best thing comes along. But, also like shoes, there are some friendships that NEVER go out of style, because in some way or another, they become a part of us. This may seem an awful analogy to you, but you have no idea what shoes mean to a woman!

Sex and the City turned out to be one of my first guides to what it is like to be a woman! I got so emotionally involved with the fabulous four; sobbing at Miranda’s mom’s funeral; heartbroken when Charlotte lost her child; proud when Samantha bravely fought cancer; love-bit with the Carrie Bradshaw – Mr. Big romance. But though I love them all, I will always feel the most connected to Carrie: we are ‘two peas in a pod’ (though she has no clue about this!).
