Here are my top ten home remedies that can help you achieve straight hair, naturally.
1. Hot oil treatments
One of the oldest, easiest and most effective ways of getting straight hair naturally is by keeping it smooth and hydrated, and to that end, hot oil treatments are wonderful. Warm oil lends both heat and moisture saturation to our waves and curls, which helps relax them, giving them a straighter pattern. Your best bets for a hot oil treatment are olive, coconut, almond and sesame oil.
Remedies
- In your microwave, heat the oil of your choice (choose from the options I mentioned earlier). Heat only for 20 seconds.
- Once the oil is lukewarm, apply it on your scalp. Massage for 10 minutes.
- Now apply the oil all over your hair.
- Make sure the oil is not uncomfortably hot, but not cold either.
- Now, comb your hair properly to ensure the oil gets evenly distributed. Also, by doing this, you will be preventing the breakage of hair while shampooing it.
- Using a hot towel, cover your hair for one hour.
- Wash your hair using an organic mild shampoo.
- Now, use a wide-toothed comb to untangle your waves while it is still wet.
- Do not dry your hair using a dryer.
A word of caution: You should not use a brush to comb your wet hair as it increases breakage.
2. Coconut milk
